I have been slammed with makeup and nail appointments since March and I love every second of it. But three kids, every day obligations and responsibilities combined with all those appointments doesn't leave me much time to update my site. Sorry abouat that guys!
The 'Baby Doll' look is a quick and simple but looks so traditionally beautiful that it seems it took hours to achieve. The whole makeup style is about bright, open eyes with contoured peachy cheeks and a soft baby pink lip. And dramatic, dark long eyelashes. I have probably done at least twenty of baby doll looks on different girls and they all looked amazing.
Here is how you can WoW your date with this classic, gorgeous makeup look. I listed the actual products I used but included descriptions so remember, use what you have!!!

Create Your Prom 2012 Baby Doll Look
1- Complete a normal foundation routine, making sure your face is flawless. Use concealer to hide any perfect imperfections. I used Revlon PhotoReady Foundation and Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser because the two create the perfect flawless complexion for photos, which we all know prom is a major photo opportunity. I applied it with an e.l.f Flat Powder brush. Make sure you work it down into your neck so you are one color all over.
2- Dust a light amount of translucent powder into your t-zone with a large powder brush and work it out to the rest of your face and neck. I used e.l.f. Translucent Powder. This type of powder is really light and contains no color so it keeps your skin looking fresh without altering your foundation color while locking it into place.
3- Blend the eyelid primer from lashline to eyebrow. If you don't have a primer, use a little concealer. This step is very important because the eyeshadow colors are quite pale. Primer/concealer as a base allows the colors to pop while making sure the eyeshadow stays in place all night!
4- With a flat eyeshadow brush, pat on the peachy bronze eyeshadow color ( bh palette Column 10-color 1) from your upper lashline to the crease of your eye. I did three layers of this color which created the perfect hint of soft shimmery peach on the eyelid. Work it back and forth across the crease to add depth to this soft eye. Remember, this prom look is all about softness.
5- With the other side of the flat shadow brush, apply the highlight shade right under your eyebrow. Add just a hint of the color to the inner corner of your eye and drg the.color down along the kower lashline, about one third of the way in.
6- With a blending brush, apply the golden bronze shade (bh cosmetics Column 2-Color 3) to the outer corner of your lids. Create a triangle shape here that extends about 1/3 of the way into your lid then work the color back and forth across your crease. Continue to build color up until the bronze shimmer is bright without making it extremely dark. Blend the color in well, extending it up slightly only your lower brow bone.
7- Use a angled eyeliner brush to line yout upper lash line from inner to outer corner. Skip the wings and cat eyes for this look. Now, line your lower lashline 2/3 of the way, until you meet the white hightlight color previously created. Add several coats of black mascara to botg the upper and lower lashes. Apply the false lashes of your choice to the upper lashes. Use a little more mascara to make sure your false and real lashes mesh together.
8- Now it's time for cheeks! First, let's contour. The Naturale Beauty Shade a listed is very sheer but this hint of brown is perfect for contouring the face while allowing it to remain fresh and doll-like. With an angled contouring brush (of course, I used the e.l.f. version), swirl on a little color and tap off the excess. Now, apply the powder directly underneath your cheekbones upwards toward the top of your ear. Blend well; the goal here is to contour the face for a modelesque face shape without adding too much color. Another areas you may wish to contour are: your temples to slim and shorten foreheads, under the jawbones to slim down a round face, down the bridge of the nose to slim the nose up and at the indention of your upper lip to make your lips more noticeable.
9- With the peachy blush shade and a small blush brush, let's add some color to those cheeks. For this prom look, avoid the apples of your cheeks entirely. I know, I know...the apples is the normal location for blush but not for the fresh, girlie look. Instead, focus a light amount of this color to the cheeks behind the apples of your cheeks. Blend it out well. The goal is to have a slight hint of color to your face.
10- Condition and moisturize your lips well to avoid that caked ob, dry look. Vaseline is perfect for this. Add a little of the eyelid primer or concealer to your lips. Even though I used a long lasting lip product, this will double the time length for wear. Using the bubblegum pink lip liner, shape and fill in your lips completely. Top with the long lasting baby pink color. Cleo makes excellent lip products that really match their names! For girls who wanted more shine, I let the lip color dry and topped it with a Covergirl long lasting lip gloss. The actual color is not readable on the tube but it is a soft cotton candy pink with a slight clear sparkle.
11- Use an angled eyeliner brush and a little eyeshadow to fill in your brows. Use a shadow about two shades lighter than your brow color. The bh Cosmetics medium brown I listed isn't heavy pigmented so I have used it for most of the brows this year. Just follow along with your natural brown line, making sure not to cake on the color. Use a clear brow gel or wax and a brow brush to set them in place. This step is crucial to defining the face and opening up those baby doll eyes. It gives a more put together look.
All done and ready to rock your gorgeous dress! It sounds like a lot of steps and I know my directions are somewhat detailed but I think it makes it easier to create the look if you know exactly what to do, what to use and what it should look like versus simple lines like "apply shade to eyelid" or "contour face".
I hope your prom is AMAZING! Be creative, be yourself and have fun!
