What You Need!
- Full coverage foundation
- Concealer: You need two shades. One that is lighter than your skin tone/foundation and one 3-4 shades darker than your skin tone.
- Matte Face Powder: any powder will work, make sure it is matte and compliments your skin tone.
- Blush: Rose color with a medium-sized face brush
- Brow color: an eyeshadow or pencil that compliments your eyebrows and an angled eyeliner brush
- Light shimmer bronze colored eyeshadow & flat eyeshadow brush
- Shimmer medium brown eyeshadow & pencil eyeshadow brush
- Medium shimmer bronze-brown eyeshadow color & eyeshadow blending brush
- Black eyeliner pencil (make sure it is somewhat creamy for smudging)
- Black mascara
- False eyelashes: Long, thick style of your choice. This is optional.
- Nude lip liner
- Pale rose lipstick
- Very, very glossy nude lip gloss
- Moisturize your face. This really helps in achieving a beautiful, flawless base for applying making.
- Kim's face is flawless. A full coverage foundation will give you a flawless, even look. An inexpensive foundation that works great is Revlon Photo Ready ($10). Apply your foundation all over your face, working it down into your neck. You can use your fingers, stippling brush or foundation brush; whatever is easiest for you.
- Start with the lighter concealer. Apply a generous amount to your under eye area and any other problem areas you may have that needs a little extra coverage.
- Pat on a very, very light layer of foundation over the concealer to hide the paler color. Pat into the skin until blending.
- Now its time to contour! This is wear the darker concealer comes in. When you are trying for a really defined cheek, like Kim's, without any shimmer, a dark concealer works perfectly! Draw to lines UNDERNEATH your actual cheekbones. Begin right below the apple of your cheek and draw diagonally up toward the top of your ear. Use your finger to blend the line in, making sure you stay in this same area. Repeat on the other cheek.
- Dust your chosen face powder all over your face, making sure to hit the under eye area. This will make removing any of those pesky eyeshadow specks much easier.
- Add just a hint of a rose-colored blush to the apples of your cheeks.
- Kim has a very distinct, defined brow. With an eyeshadow (and an angled brush) or eye pencil color that compliments your own brow color, follow your brow's natural line. You may want to brush them into place first. To lock in the brow, use a clear eyebrow gel.
- Apply an eye primer from your upper lash line to your brow, blending well. You can use a flesh-toned concealer or a natural colored cream eyeshadow if you don't have a primer on hand. Add a little bit directly below the lower lash line.
- Apply the light bronze shimmery eyeshadow from your lash line to your crease with a flat eyeshadow brush.
- With a pencil brush and the dark brown shimmer eyeshadow, create a triangle on the outer corners of each eye, bringing the color about 1/3 of the way across the eyelid, with a point lined up with the outer corner. Run the color across your crease several time.
- With whatever color is left on the pencil brush, run it back and forth underneath your eye, at the lower lash line about 3/4 of the way in. It should extend up just a little toward your brow at the eye's outer corner.
- Now take a blending brush & the medium bronze/brown color and blend out the darkness in the corner and across the lid. You want it to retain some of the brown, but with more of a shimmer chocolate color. Layer colors like this really gives the eye depth and a dramatic effect.
- With a flat eyeshadow brush, add a beige highlight right below the eyebrow, specifically at the arch. Make sure you have no harsh lines.
- Line your upper lash line with the black eyeliner pencil, avoiding the inner corner. Bring the line out slightly at the outer corner. It should meet the slightly upward extended brown line created at the lower lash line to complete the cat eye. Use a sponge brush to smudge out the black line just a little.
- Apply one coat of mascara. Add your false lashes to the upper lash line. Add a couple more layers of mascara to combine your natural and false lashes.
- Line your lips in the nude lip liner. Pat on the rose-colored lipstick and top if off with a super shiney nude gloss.
