Who doesn't want those sexy, sculpted, prominent modelesque cheekbones like Ms. Tyra Banks?
For those of us who lack this defined cheekbone perfection, makeup it the solution to the problem. Of course, we are all perfect just like we are but sometimes we want a little change. Its simply, requires very little tools and products but the results are awesom-tastic!
- Contouring/Bronzing Face Brush (or any medium-sized angled brush)
- Large Kabuki or Powder brush
- Face Powder, Blush or Bronzer that is about 4-5 shades darker than your skin tone.
- Lighter, Golden Bronzer
- Complete your normal moisturizer/foundation/concealer routine. *TIP* If you prefer to avoid the powder look, choose a liquid or cream foundation/concealer that is 4-5 shades darker than your normal foundation/concealer. Follow the steps below to use these products to contour. Just remember to blend the foundation/concealer in well staying completely focused within the areas mentioned below.
- Add a generous amount of the darker bronzer/blush/face powder to your angled brush. You will need to add more for each area you are contouring.
- Find your cheekbone. You are going to add the color in an angled line, underneath your cheekbone. Place the brush directly under your cheekbone, below the apple of your cheek. Run the brush straight up, following underneath your cheekbone and stopping right before your hair-line. You should have a dark brown line now. Add more color to your brush and repeat on the other cheek.
- Add more color to the brush once more. Add a stroke of the dark color on top of each of your temples. The line should begin above the arch of your eyebrow and run down diagonally toward your hair-line. This slims the face, adding to the prominent cheekbone look we are going for. *TIP* To slim your nose, use the same brown color and create a vertical line from the bridge of your nose to your nose's tip, blending the color in and topping it off with your normal face powder.
- Now blend in the color making small circles but staying within the area below your cheekbone and temple. Avoid blending the color onto your cheekbone or you wont receive the contouring effect. Blend it in so it's not as harsh but still has a slight hint of darker color.
- With the large powder/kabuki brush, blend the lighter color on to your cheekbones and dust a VERY light coat (like whatever might be left on your brush after you bronze your cheekbones) over the darker, contoured areas. This takes the focus off the darker color while highlighting the cheekbones. The contrast between the light, shimmery color on your cheekbones against the darker color underneath makes the cheekbones more prominent which is after all, the goal here!
- Complete the rest of your makeup as normal!
