e.l.f. BeautyBook: Bright Eye Edition- Green Shimmer Makeup Tutorial

Hi all! I went to Target yesterday and immediately went to the e.l.f. collection. I was so excited to see all of the e.l.f. BeautyBooks on sale for $2.89. These are great eye palettes and at an even better price. You get 12 eyeshadow colors and a Brightening eye liner in each book. I got 2 Bright Eye editions and 2 Smoky Eye editions. Check out the pics below the tutorial. You really get a lot of eyeshadow colors for under 3 bucks. That's why I love e.l.f. It is so affordable and it really is terrific, deep pigmented products. Why pay way more for expensive, top of the line brands when e.l.f. gives great quality for barely nothing? Anyways, here's the tutorial for a Deep Green Shimmer look! This look is PERFECT for brown-eyed girls because green really sets off the color of your eyes for a more brighter, vibrant look. (color swatches below)

What You Need: For clarification, we will count colors in the e.l.f. BeautyBook Bright Eye Edition as 3 rows of 4 colors, starting on the left and moving down. (Colors listed first, what I used listed second...but remember, use what you have; it is not what you use but how you use it that creates the look. Beauty doesn't have to break the bank!)
  • Shimmer beige highlight: row 1, color 1
  • light and dark shimmer green: row 3, color 2 and 3
  • deep shimmer bronze: row 2, color 2
  • white and black eyeliner: Cleo Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Snow and Midnight Sky
  • black mascara: Cleo Mascara in the color Dark
  • brushes: e.l.f Professional Eyeshadow brush, e.l.f. Defining Eye brush, e.l.f. Eye Crease brush
This is How We Do It! (anybody remember that Montel Jorden song? LOL) REMEMBER TO ALWAYS TAP OFF THE EXCESS ON YOUR BRUSH BEFORE APPLYING IT TO YOUR EYES. This will gives more control, a more even color application and reduces excess off cast of the colors around the eye and face, where you don't want it.
  1. From upper lash line to brow, apply the highlight color (color 1 from row 1 in e.l.f. BeautyBook- Bright Eye Edition) with the eyeshadow brush. Bring it down to the inner lid to brighten and open the eye up.
  2. Use the same brush and pat a light, grassy green color (row 3, color 2) to 2/3 of your eye from the inner corner across the lid, covering about 2/3 of your lid. Avoid the inner corner. Do not add to 1/3 of the lid at the outer corner.
  3. Use the Defining eye brush to add the deep green color to your outer corner in a "V" shape pattern. In other words, create a point at the outside corner with the dark green, work across 1/3 of the lid until it meats the light green. Without adding more color to the brush, sweep this color from the outer corner "V" across your crease. Move back and forth in windshield wiper motions until the desired depth of color is reached. I made a really deep shaded crease.
  4. Use the Crease brush to blend in any harsh lines where the colors meet. At the outer corner, blend the dark green up slightly do it rests on the lower portion of the brow bone. The color should be wide at the outside corner and fade in a slant toward the inner corner. Bring the color down and line the lower lash line with it. This line should meet the outer "V".
  5. Add a little of the bronze colored shadow (row 2, color 2) to the Crease brush. Making small circles with the brush, apply this color to the area on the eye lid where the light and dark greens meet. Do not completely cover each color but instead apply this color as if you were separating the two greens. Blend well.
  6. Add a white eyeliner to your water line and line the upper lash line with the black. Add your favorite mascara and you are all set.
